چکیده

The performance of a parallel computer greatly depends upon how, the different processors are capable of exchanging data. This, thus require an arbitrary permutation (nonblocking) to be done by the connection networks. A nonblocking network is capable of providing N parallel paths between a pair of nodes forming any arbitrary permutation. In this paper, we present three different simple nonblocking schemes in WDM switching networks such as Crossbar, Clos-network, Benes-network and also select the best scheme among them. Key-Words:–WDM, Multicast WDM switching networks, Nonblocking, Crossbar, Benes and

Efficient Nonblocking Switching Networks for Interprocessor Communications in Multiprocessor Systems

AbsfructThe performance of a multiprocessor system depends heavily on its ability to provide conflict free paths among its processors. In this paper, we explore the possibility of using a nonblocking network with O ( N log N ) edges (crosspoints) to interconnect the processors of an N processor system. We combine Bassalygo and Pinsker's implicit design of strictly nonblocking networks with an e...

Wide-sense nonblocking multicast in a class of regular optical WDM networks

Multicast communication involves transmitting information from a single source node to multiple destination nodes, and is becoming an important requirement in high-performance networks. In this paper, we study multicast communication in a class of optical WDM networks with regular topologies such as linear arrays, rings, meshes, tori and hypercubes. For each type of network, we derive the neces...

Wide-Sense Nonblocking Clos Networks under Packing Strategy

In this paper, we study wide-sense nonblocking conditions under packing strategy for the three-stage Clos network, or v(m;n; r) network. Wide-sense nonblocking networks are generally believed to have lower network cost than strictly nonblocking networks. However, the analysis for the wide-sense nonblocking conditions is usually more difficult. Moore[2] proved that a v(m;n; 2) network is nonbloc...

Optimal Coordination of Distance and Directional Overcurrent Relays Considering Different Network Topologies

Most studies in relay coordination have focused solely on coordination of overcurrent relays while distance relays are used as the main protection of transmission lines. Since, simultaneous coordination of these two types of relays can provide a better protection, in this paper, a new approach is proposed for simultaneous coordination of distance and directional overcurrent relays (D&DOCRs). Al...

Virtual Nonblocking Switching Networks

Nonblocking networks are always favored to be used as switching networks whenever possible. There are three types of nonblocking networks, namely rearrangeable nonblocking networks, wide-sense nonblocking networks, and strictly nonblocking networks. Large-scale wide-sense nonblocking networks and strictly nonblocking networks may be infeasible due to their high cost. In contrast, rearrangeable ...
